Why we should waste our time and money for a protection of the pond turtle and amphibians? There are two fundamental reasons. First one - ecological, says that we should protect the biological diversity, which is - just like relics of history - a valuable european heritage. Second one - ethical, imposes on us an obligation to protect species, which live in our habitat from milion years. Now, their existence is endangered because of the expansion of a human civilization. Without our active protection, the pond turtle, the fire-bellied toad and the crested newt, would completely disappear from our nature.
